ACUPUNCTURE & SHIATSU FOR SPORTS THERAPY
In Japan it is common for professional athletes and dancers to have regular sessions of shiatsu and acupuncture. Sports acupuncture and shiatsu are incredibly effective both for the relief of acute injuries and for the maintenance of peak physical condition and it is my privilege and passion to bring the benefits of these to the UK.
Yin Shiatsu and Acupuncture go one step beyond standard physiotherapy in that a treatment session always involves looking at the whole person and the balance of energy and tension in the body. I use sophisticated palpation and oriental medicine techniques to assess the root of a problem and then work on it with deep massage and needles to bring about rapid and lasting relief. Mine is not a sticking plaster approach – all too often a niggling injury can come back because the root cause hasn’t been addressed. I will work with you to sort out old problems that keep coming back to haunt you!
“I can’t recommend Yoshi highly enough. I was suffering from back pain whenever I ran for a number of years, two visits to Yoshi and I’m fixed! Amazing.
I always recommend him to my clients.”

One of the key factors in maintaining optimum fitness levels is flexibility. Stiff muscles as a result of not warming up or stretching properly are the main cause of joint injuries. I use a combination of massage, yin shiatsu and acupuncture to release muscle tension and improve mobility.
Anyone undertaking sport on a regular basis will benefit from regular sessions to maintain suppleness and stay in top condition, thereby reducing the risk of injury and improving performance.
For runners I offer a special package including a pre-race session (or sessions) to prepare the body before the event and a follow-up session to smooth out any post-race tension.
